We are looking for tenants of any age who work tirelessly for their community.

Do you dedicate your time to helping others?
Are you someone who your neighbours always turn to for help and support?
Have you raised funds for a community project/centre?
Have you been involved in organising events/fun days/training schemes for your neighbours?
Are you involved in committees and residents associations or youth groups?
Have you worked with your landlord to provide feedback from neighbours on a proposed regeneration scheme?

If you are a tenant who has been heavily involved in community initiatives/events and who works with their landlord to improve the local community then we want to hear from you.

SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR

NOMINATION

We are looking for companies that supply to the social housing sector and that have built up a solid reputation for efficiency and reliability.

We want to hear from suppliers who are thinking outside of the box and who are helping their clients to drive down costs in an increasingly rocky financial climate through supplying low-cost products without compromising on quality.

We are looking for suppliers who never fail to deliver, who work with customers to manage their ongoing supply needs and help them to be more efficient and to reduce their carbon footprint.

BEST YOUTH ENGAGEMENT PROJECT

NOMINATION

Young people are the future of our communities yet all too often their voices go unheard and their opinions are overlooked.

We want to hear from engagement programmes that are breaking that trend and working with younger residents to find out what they think the big issues in their community are.

We are looking for schemes with a successful track record of involving young people in their organisation and working with them to shape services/projects.

BEST TENANT EMPLOYMENT/TRAINING PROGRAMME

NOMINATION

Training schemes and work programmes to help people back into employment have become par for the course among social landlords in the UK with more organisations helping residents to improve their chances of finding the right job.

We want hear about schemes that have been successful in improving residents’ prospects from CV writing and practical workshops to supporting people to apply for jobs. Or are you a social landlord which provides training and job opportunities for residents within your organisation?

BEST NEW AFFORDABLE HOUSING SCHEME

NOMINATION

This award applies to affordable new-build developments, which have been completed within the past 18 months or are due for completion within the next six months and are already home to tenants.

We are looking for outstanding schemes which were designed in consultation with the community to respond to local housing need.

We are looking for high-quality schemes which have pushed the boundaries in terms of design and which will provide comfortable, energy efficient, warm homes for tenants.

We want to see developments with strong community connections with good transport links and access to leisure and retail facilities. We are looking for schemes which have provided employment and training opportunities for local people and made use of local supply chains.

BEST IT SYSTEM OR APP

NOMINATION

IT systems and apps have been used to revolutionise day-to-day services for housing associations and we are looking for the best of the best.

We want to hear about systems and apps that have been used to improve services and to help clients overcome a specific issue within their organisation.

We are looking for systems and apps that have had a positive effect, saving time and money for organisations and allowing for better use of resources. Customer feedback on the effectiveness of the system must be provided.

BEST REGENERATION SCHEME

NOMINATION

This award applies to large-scale regeneration schemes, which have been completed within the past 18 months or are due for completion within the next six months, and are already home to tenants.

We are looking for outstanding schemes, which are bringing a new lease of life to the surrounding area. We want to hear about schemes designed in consultation with tenants and the community, which have had a positive impact on the area.

We are looking for high-quality schemes which will provide tangible improvements and benefits for tenants and schemes which have provided employment and training opportunities for local people and made use of local supply chains.

BEST SUPPORTED / SHELTERED HOUSING SCHEME

NOMINATION

We are looking for innovative housing schemes for the over 55s or for people with specific support needs, which have been completed between 25 May 2016 and 25 May 2017 or are due for completion by the end of November 2017.

The schemes must be about much more than simply putting a roof over people’s heads and entries must give evidence of supporting people to live independently and show that residents’ individual needs are met and that they are involved in developing and delivering services.

SUSTAINABLE HOUSING SCHEME OF THE YEAR

NOMINATION

This award applies to large-scale refurbishment programmes to fit renewable technology into homes. The schemes must have been completed within the past 18 months or be due for completion within the next six months.

We want to hear about developments/projects which have brought clear benefits for tenants from reduced energy bills to health improvements and a better quality of life. Entries must include testimonials from tenants.

SOCIAL LANDLORD OF THE YEAR (SMALL)

NOMINATION

This is open to housing associations, ALMOs and stock retaining councils with a stock of up to 5,000 properties.

We are looking for organisations which do more than provide a roof over people’s heads. We want to see examples of landlords which are diversifying and growing their services, building new homes and bringing empty properties back into use and finding new ways of raising funds.

SOCIAL LANDLORD OF THE YEAR (MEDIUM)

NOMINATION

This is open to housing associations, ALMOs and stock retaining councils with a stock of between 5,000 and 10,000 properties.

We are looking for organisations which do more than provide a roof over people’s heads. We want to see examples of landlords which are diversifying and growing their services, building new homes and bringing empty properties back into use and finding new ways of raising funds.

SOCIAL LANDLORD OF THE YEAR (LARGE)

NOMINATION

This is open to housing associations, ALMOs and stock retaining councils with a stock of over 10,000 properties.

We are looking for organisations which do more than provide a roof over people’s heads. We want to see examples of landlords which are diversifying and growing their services, building new homes and bringing empty properties back into use and finding new ways of raising funds.

CUSTOMER SERVICE AWARD

NOMINATION

We want to hear from social landlords or contractors who offer consistently high levels of customer service across the board.

We are looking for organisations with excellent customer satisfaction scores and a strong track record of successfully dealing with complaints.

If you are a customer service champion who regularly goes above and beyond for your service users then this is the category for you

CONTRACTOR OF THE YEAR

NOMINATION

We are looking for a contractor that has a solid reputation within the social housing sector and has implemented innovative techniques to stay ahead of the game in an increasingly rocky financial climate. A company that goes above and beyond the call of duty for clients and offers consistently high levels of service while contributing to the communities in which it works.

BEST TENANT SUPPORT/ADVICE PROGRAMME

NOMINATION

Being a social housing provider is about so much more than putting a roof over people’s heads and social landlords are now providing an increasing range of services. Advice on anything from health and wellbeing to debt and finance and finding work has become part of the daily offering for landlords.

This category aims to find the best of those advice/support schemes. We are looking for well-established schemes/programmes which have been running for at least 6 months which can provide tangible results of how they have helped tenants.

BEST REPAIRS/MAINTENANCE SCHEME

NOMINATION

Day-to-day stock maintenance and responding to repairs is a never ending and often thankless task but one that requires a great deal of resources and planning.

We want to hear from organisations which offer efficient services responding to tenants’ needs and fitting in with their busy lifestyles. We are looking or schemes/programmes which use highly skilled workforces and make use of high-quality products.

BEST PARTNERING SCHEME

NOMINATION

Successful partnerships are essential to successful schemes and projects and this category is open to organisations which have worked together to achieve a common goal or aim from fuel poverty schemes to projects to tackle anti-social behaviour.

We are looking for partnerships that can demonstrate a real commitment to communities and can provide evidence of how the partnership has benefited the community.

BEST FINANCE MODEL

NOMINATION

The tough financial climate has seen many social landlords looking outside of traditional finance sources for investment in recent years with many turning to bonds and institutional investors. We want to hear about the finance models that are being used by the sector and the benefits that they have brought.

Are you an external finance provider or a housing provider that has implemented a new system, either independently or working in partnership with other organisations?

Are you a finance provider that is offering a new funding model to the housing sector or a housing provider that has taken advantage of a new source of finance?
